Cooking from online recipes can become confusing and unclear a lot of the times.  Follow this simple guide below so that you do not overthink the steps of this recipe.

Vegan Mango Habanero Cauliflower Wings

Cauliflower Wings Battered

All of the cauliflower wing recipes on this site use the batter technique.  It turned out great for our vegan mango habanero cauliflower wings.

We use a simple technique of using 1 cup flour, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk and flavoring sauce.  This batter technique helps us coat our cauliflower and have a good surface for our sauce to attach and soak into the cauliflower.

This in turn helps us make really yummy cauliflower wings.  If you have any other questions than please leave a comment below.

Extra Crispy Cauliflower Wings

This is a tricky feat to pull off if you do not have the right technique and equipment.  It works out great for us because we have the Ninja Foodi XL.  This is a multi cooker that has air frying capabilities.

This air fryer allows our food to come out as crispy at cauliflower can be crisped. The other technique we use is that you can alter your batter by not using regular flour.  Look for bread crumbs or just use sauce and leave out the batter.

These 2 techniques will help you achieve the extra crispy cauliflower wings that you desire.  Remember, no batter, just sauce.  Also use an air fryer and do not oil fry your cauliflower wings.

12 Cauliflower Florets Wings Fresh or Frozen

    The Batter

    • 1 Cup Flour of choice
    • 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
    • 1/2 Cup Mango Habanero Sauce
    • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 Teaspoon Paprika
    • 1 Teaspoon Parsley dried
    • Salt & Pepper to taste

    The Sauce

    • 1 Cup Mango Habanero Sauce
    • 1/4 Cup Mango Chutney heated
    • 3 Tablespoons Vegan Butter melted
    • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 Teaspoon Paprika

    • Make the Cauliflower wings out of the head of Cauliflower either by hand or carefully with a knife.
    • Put all the ingredients from the "Batter Section" into a bowl and mix them together smoothly.
    • Now put all of the Cauliflower floret wings into the batter and coat evenly.
    • Before you coat your wings in flour, shake off any excess "Batter" from the wings.  Once you have done that you can toss all of them into the flour.  Shake any excess flour before placing into the air fryer.
    • Now place all of your cauliflower wings in to the air fryer and air fry them for 15 minutes @ 400 Degrees Fahrenheit.
    • While the Cauliflower wings are air frying, start making your sauce.
    • First make your sauce by melting 2 to 3 tablespoons of vegan butter.
    • Then add the mango chutney to the pan and whisk the two ingredients together
    • Now add the vegan butter mango chutney mixture into the mango habanero hot sauce.
    • Add the remaining ingredients and stir them all together.
    • Once your sauce is done, so should the 15 minutes of air frying.  Carefully take your Cauliflower florets out of the Air Fryer and into the sauce.  Coat the Cauliflower wings evenly with the "Sauce" and place the florets immediately back into the Air Fryer.
    • Air fry the cauliflower wings again @ 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
    • That's it! You are all finished.  Grab your favorite vegan dipping sauce and probably let your Cauliflower wings cool down a little bit before enjoying these tasty little things.  Enjoy!
    Mango Chutney Butter

This was a simple part of the sauce recipe to make.  While the cauliflower was air frying for the first cycle, we made our sauce.  This included making the mango chutney butter.

Marilyn had such a good idea by adding mango chutney to this sauce.  By melting the vegan butter with mango chutney, we had a great sauce combination.

This allowed us to have a sweet savory mango flavor that combined really well with the heat of the habanero.  This yin and yang flavor profile turned out great.

     Vegan Dipping Sauces

When you think of wings, you think of dipping sauces.  Although, these wings are really good by themselves, adding dipping sauces takes it up a notch.

Enjoy these recipes below.  If it doesn’t turn out the way you want it to turn out then that means you just have to experiment a little with the other flavors.

Add a little more of one ingredient if you think it is missing something.  It’s not too hard to play around with and nail down a great dipping sauce to enjoy your vegan mango habanero cauliflower wings with.

    1. I am not a vegan but I definitely would like to try this recipe out. Its such a creative way to cook Cauliflower and actually looks like chicken wings!! I wonder how they will taste though. One thing I always associate with vegan food is there might be a lack of taste. But after seeing this recipe and the nice pictures, it seems like I could be wrong. Do you have any more recipes like this to share?

      • Thank you for the comment Tosyn.  This recipe had a lot of flavor and adding a good vegan dipping sauce helps out too.  You should definitely give this recipe a try.

    2. Wow! This looks so easy! Can I substitute the habanero peppers with milder peppers? I find habanero a little too spicy. Although I live in Mexico, I can’t do hot food very well, lol. I tried 😉 With mango, this should taste really good! With the recipe you shared in your last article and this one here I know what I’m going to cook tomorrow 🙂 I think I have most ingredients.

      • Absolutely Christine!  These recipes are pretty much interchangeable.  They all turned out really well.  We were both intimidated in trying these cauliflower recipes but they all were yummy.

    3. I tried making air fryer cauliflower but it didn’t come out good.i  want to try this your recipe out. I would try my best not to waste the ingredients as getting fresh ones would be kind of hard… I really enjoyed the video you had in this article i must say it was very packed…hope to see more of this from you.

      • Thanks again for the comment David.  This recipe turned out great.  Not all of our recipes turn out great on the first try but this one was hands down quick, easy and vegan.
