Manual Food Processor?

Have you ever tried to slice and dice garlic with a knife?  It is very tedious and dangerous work but do not worry because the best manual food processor excels at this and its name is Rosle!  In this post I will be touching on a lot of the benefits of this processor but also shining light on some of its limitations.  That way you are able to have a good idea on whether or not this food processor is right for you.

How Does It Work?

According to the manufacturer, you are supposed to be able to process food by just using a pull string.  I definitely had my doubts.  Food was either cut by a knife or an electric machine. This definitely made me skeptical about the effectiveness of crushing onions with just me holding down the appliance while cranking back on the pull string like I am starting a lawn mower.

However, it looks like the theory of a pull string moving 3 sharp stainless steel blades is a very effective way in processing food. The reviews have been surprisingly high on this product.  People are raving about how easy and effective it is despite it not being powered by electricity.  They are saying that it is very straight forward to use.  Throw food in, hold it down with one hand and crank with the other.

My Thoughts on the Product

I am now starting to see why people are enjoying this product.  This product is extremely versatile.  First and foremost it does not use electricity so you can bring it anywhere.  This would be great for a hiker or somebody who goes camping a lot.  It is also nice because you can do food prep anywhere in the kitchen regardless of the electrical outlet location.

The functionality of the product is great but if it doesn’t work well then what is the point.  Fortunately, the reviews have been very favorable.  This product has done well with slicing small food and also on hardier food.  Some examples are small foods like garlic and harder foods like carrots.  This machine has 2 very sharp stainless steel blades and with a pull of the string handle it can dice any food in sight.  Not only can it slice food but it also has an herb basket spinner for cleaning your greens.

What Others Think About the Rosle

Reviewers have given this product a very high rating of 4.7 out of 5 Stars on Amazon.  Some of the benefits described by reviewers have been that it is very effective in dicing and processing a variety of foods.  They also say that it cuts prep time in half.  Other comments were about how they could not stop using it and that it is there go to kitchen prep product.

Comments for concern were about the size of the appliance.  The reviews wish that the machine was bigger in size but said that they couldn’t complain too much because although it is small, it works really well.  Other concerns were that it was hard to clean because the middle blade swings around loosely.  I think an easy solution to that would be to wash it in the dish washer.  Overall, everyone is pretty happy with this product and has been buying it for their friends and family.

In Conclusion

I would definitely recommend this product to people close to me and to you the reader.  The research that I have done and the countless positive reviews that I have read makes me confident in supporting this manual food processor.  This product’s functionality is proven.  It makes cutting small food like garlic no problem at all.  You no longer have to cry from cutting and dicing onions.  You also can shred hard food like carrots with ease as seen in the video above.

This product makes kitchen prep easier and safer.  No more using sharp knives on small foods.  No more holding your breath when you want to dice garlic.  The other cool feature is the herb spinner basket which cleans the dirt off of your smaller vegetables.  Amazon is also offering free shipping for this product.  It looks safe to say that your money is safe with Rosle’s manual food processor!

  5. I’m certainly familiar with electric food processors, but manual food processors, not so much. Pulling a string for a food processor does not sound promising at all, however, your article explained the process very well and has me wanting to purchase one. The videos you provided demonstrates how easy it is to use and really does not require a lot of effort. I like that you can take it anywhere and that it is for someone like me who likes to hike and camp from time to time. The fact that I get to conserve on electricity with this product is icing on the cake. How often do you use the Rosle Manual Food Processor?

    • Thanks for the comment and concern Brian.  We use this product every week for something.  Most times a couple days a week.  It saves us a lot of time and really does make kitchen prep quick and easy.

    • Thank you for the kind words.  Yes, the Rosle works very well for us when it comes to dicing onions.  We cut the onion in half with a knife and throw it in the Rosle.  A couple of quick pulls of the string and the onion is diced perfectly.  We hope it helps you too.

  9. As a traveler this manual processor have really helped me alot  and  I don’t intend to stop using it.  A processor  that don’t  need an electricity, making cooing easy  and stress-free and safe, I don’t  have to cut my veggies or my onion  garlic etc  on my own  again, can be use anytime and  anywhere. Am very sure of recommending this processor to my mom and my siblings for use to ease them the stress of stressful cooking activities.

And note it is not  even expensive to get through Amazon and  also they  free shipping. Hurry now and order for yours. But my question is when will bigger sizes be out?

    • That is a great question Evagreene.  We would like this product to be a little bit bigger too.  Right now it is a A- product and a little size upgrade and it would be an A+ product.

  10. Hiya Eric

I found your article about the Rosle Manual Food Processor very informative, thank you. I had no idea you could get a manual one. I have an electric food processor at home. Does one pull of the string accomplish the job or do you need to pull it a few times? I probably ought to watch the video to find out! I like the versatility of being able to use it anywhere.

My eldest started eating vegan food last year, I will tell her about your site, thank you for a well researched, easy to follow read.

    Krs PurpleLioness

    • Thank you for the comment Purple Lioness.  Depending on what you are processing will tell you how many times you have to pull the string.  The tougher the food the more pulls you will do.  Hope that helps.  We will be putting up a better video in the near future.

  11. Hello, Your guide is very helpful on Microgreens Nutrition. This is another plant vegetarian should protect. Another, charming fact is when we say that the living ones has more value than the harvested one. It is so nice to see a researcher that finally take his time to study further about microgreens. Thanks for sharing such useful post.

  12. Hi, Eric!

Thanks for your review on the Rosle. Until now, I’d never even heard of a manual food processor, so this is kiiind of mind-blowing for me! I’ve always thought about getting a food processor, but they tend to be pricey and so, so loud. We live in an apartment, so we try to be as quiet and courteous as possible to our neighbors (we had a Vitamix blender in the past that some of them were NOT fond of). This sounds like it’s right up my alley and I can’t wait to check it out!

    • Yes Hannah.  I used to live in a house and was never aware of how noise could affect other people until I just recently moved into an apartment.  You always have to be cautious of how much sound you are making.  The Rosle is practically silent. It makes a low whipping noise from the string and that is it.  Very great product.

  13. Thanks Eric, I practically live in my kitchen cutting and chopping all day long. I have tried lots and lots of greaters and choppers but this manual food processor looks very unique. My vegetable rice recipe would be prepared much faster with this processor. I would love to give it a try.

  14. To say I’m impressed with this manual food processor would be an understatement. Wow! I really like the effectiveness and most especially, seeing it in video format makes it all more believing and trustworthy. Personally, I see that this would save cost and also help reduce charge on utility bills while doing exactly what an electric processor would do. Thanks for sharing, I’m definitely getting this

  15. Hello Eric, having a manual food processor is not a be idea though, and as I read through this article I was counting reasons why I should probably go for this as against the regular electric food processors. The high level of safety that comes with it not making use of electricity is very nice and by that your kids are safe from electric shocks. Also it’s not adding to your electric bills. Its a whole nice idea and I love it .

  16. Wow this is super cool! This is my first time hearing about this food processor thing without using electricity. I like the features of almost all of them reviewed her. It won’t be a bad idea to own one of these processors as it will be very helpful for me as a student.

Thanks for sharing this review, it’s helpful!
